Hussein Al Imam was born in February in Egypt. Married to Mrs. Sahar Ramy the famous actor and Ballerina and has two sons, Youssef and Salem who were both born with the same talented artistic blood. Hussein is the second son of the great movie director Hassan Al Imam who was well known in the 60s, 70s, 80s and his films were landmarks in the Egyptian and all the Middle Eastern Cinema industry. He grew up in an artistic atmosphere which turned to be a blessing for his career which stood him in good stead as an actor, musician, film producer and a supreme artist. He graduated from faculty of fine arts in Cairo then left to Chicago and obtain got a scholarship in Northern Illinois University. His main interests at the time was joining Rock Bands which was the spark of his distinguished style of music. After his educational trip in USA, he returned back to his homeland "Egypt" to start a great and successful journey in the Middle Eastern Cinema industry. Moody and Hussein Al Imam together made a revolution in the Egyptian music in 1979 with the release of their first Album "Al Donia Soga yara" (Theworld is small) which is currently a hit among new generation downloaders after 30 years. In Chicago USA, Moody and Hussein Al Imam formed their own band which was known by the name of "Highway" and in Egypt they named their band group "Tiba" which was later changed to "Hussein and Moody Al Imam".
After a brief
apprenticeship in one of the Egyptian movies "Alselem Al Khalifi" (The
Back Stair), Hussein made his movie acting debut in 1973 in one of the
Egyptian landmark movies "Al Sokareya" (The sugar Pot), in part three
(3) of the trilogy of the novelist Naguib Mahfouz (The Noble awarded
novelist). Hussein then fluttered in with concrete steps in several
other movies, including playing "Alhob Fawka Al Borkan" (Love on top of
a volcano) in 1978, story of which was written by the novelist "Zenab Al
Imam" (Hussein's sister) and directed by his father, Hasan Al Imam. He
played many other roles in other great and landmark movies such as "Al
Toot Wal Naboot" in 1986 and many others. |
